CLASS A TWIRLERS TAKE FIRST PLACE

SOMERSET- On Sunday, April 6, the Somerset Majorettes competed in the Championship Competition of the New England Majorette Association (NEMA). It was hosted at Brockton High School. Somerset had 15 twirlers, five of them in the Novice class, and they placed fourth in the season out of five. They also placed third twice over the season at other competitions. Novice had a theme of “Jailhouse Rock.”

…There are two seniors on the team. They are Connie Pereira and Alexandria Murphy. They are both Somerset Berkley Regional High School Seniors, and have been twirling with the organization for eight consecutive seasons, beginning in 2006. Both Connie and Alexandria were inducted into the “2014 NEMA All Stars Team.” The Somerset team awarded both seniors a scholarship. Connie was also granted a scholarship from the NEMA board. There were a total of 10 seniors in NEMA for the 2014 Graduating class…”
